The rabbit farm is mainly a family business, for the major part located in West Flanders and Antwerp. The rabbits are given only vegetable based feed. This consists of grain and luzerne, to improve the health and the fleshiness of the rabbits.

Rabbits are bred because of their remarkable meat quality and not because of the fur. The slaughtering takes place in specialised slaughterhouses.

Because of the traditional manner of breeding and slaughtering the rabbit is available throughout the year at the butcher's, poulterer's and large department stores, fresh as well as deep frozen.
